Squadron

This system facilitates seamless distribution and execution of computational workloads across idle workstations within a laboratory or research environment by packaging code, deploying containers automatically, and managing resource utilization without requiring traditional schedulers or cloud billing. Its key features include automatic containerization, idle-aware scheduling that optimizes GPU usage, container-native environment consistency, on-demand dataset mounting with caching, and real-time logging and artifact management, effectively solving problems related to complex infrastructure management, dependency conflicts, and inefficient hardware utilization for data scientists, researchers, and machine learning practitioners. It addresses needs for reproducibility, simplified deployment, cost-efficient resource sharing, and ease of use, allowing scientists and engineers to focus on their research while minimizing infrastructure overhead.
