• What happens if a GPX track crosses a road or trail that’s missing from the offline map—will navigation still guide me along the track?

  Thank you for your question, and for riding with OffRaid!

  Yes. When you follow a GPX track, OffRaid guides you along the track itself, not along the roads on the map.

  In Follow mode, your track line is the route. OffRaid measures everything against that line: your position on it, the distance left, your arrival time and the off-track and wrong-way warnings. So if the track crosses a road or dirt road that isn’t on the offline map, you just keep following the line on the screen. Navigation carries on as normal.

  The one difference is voice turn instructions. OffRaid announces turns only at real junctions, which it finds by matching your track to the road data. Where that road is missing, you won’t hear a call like “turn left in 200 m” for that section. You’ll still see the line, the arrow, the guidance on screen, and the alert if you drift off the track. We do this on purpose. A wrong voice instruction is worse than none, so OffRaid stays quiet rather than guess.

  One tip. If you start Follow while far from the track, OffRaid offers to route you to its start or to the nearest point. That routing does use the map’s roads, so where roads are missing it may take a longer way round. If you can already see the track, choose “Just follow” and ride straight to the line.
