How Irtiqa Hub got started
The idea for Irtiqa Hub came from my experience working in the SaaS industry. I kept coming across small businesses that wanted software with a good number of features, but they were often put off by the pricing or the complexity of the products available to them.
I started thinking about whether it was possible to build software that gave small businesses the features they actually needed without making them pay for things they would never use. I also felt the products should be simple enough that a business owner could start using them without needing a technical background.
That thinking eventually led me to start working on Irtiqa Hub. What started as an idea around making SaaS more affordable and practical gradually developed into multiple products for different business needs, including BillEase for billing, Inventra for inventory management, and WhatsHub for customer communication.
For me, the goal was never just to build another SaaS company. I wanted to build products that I would be comfortable recommending to a small business owner myself.
Growing Irtiqa Hub: what worked and what didn't
One growth tactic that worked well for us was talking directly to small business owners and showing them the product rather than just telling them about it. When someone explained a problem they were facing, we could demonstrate how a product like BillEase or Inventra could solve that particular problem. Those conversations often led to much better feedback than simply running promotions. They also helped us understand what small businesses were actually willing to pay for.
One thing that completely flopped for us was trying to promote Irtiqa Hub as one big platform from the beginning. We have products like BillEase, Inventra, WhatsHub, TeamHub, and CareerLift, but each one solves a very different problem. When we tried explaining everything together, people struggled to understand what we actually offered and whether it was relevant to them.
We learned that it is much better to lead with the problem. For example, if someone needs affordable billing, we talk about BillEase. If they need inventory management, we talk about Inventra. That simple change made our conversations much more effective.
What Irtiqa Hub customers really think
One of the most useful pieces of feedback we received came from a small business owner using BillEase. They wanted a proper billing system, but they did not want to spend extra money on a computer and printer just to generate invoices. For a small business, even that additional hardware cost can become a reason to avoid adopting software.
Instead of telling the customer that they needed to buy the hardware, we looked at the problem differently. If the customer already had a smartphone, why not let them use that as the billing device?
That led us to implement a mobile POS experience within BillEase. The customer could create the bill directly from their phone and share it with the customer through WhatsApp without needing a computer or printer.
I liked this example because it reminded us that customers do not always need more features. Sometimes they simply need us to remove an obstacle. In this case, the feedback helped us make BillEase more practical for small businesses and gave us a feature that came directly from a real customer need.
What most people get wrong about Accounting Software
I think one thing people get wrong about the small business SaaS market is assuming that price is the only thing small businesses care about. From my experience, that is not true. They care about price, but they also care a lot about whether the software actually fits the way they work.
For example, when we were working on BillEase, we came across a small business owner who wanted a billing system but did not want to spend money on a computer and printer. Instead of telling them that they needed to buy the hardware, we looked at how we could make the product work around their situation. That is what led us to add mobile POS and WhatsApp bill sharing.
That experience shaped how I look at this market. Small businesses are not looking for the most feature-packed software. They want something they can afford, understand quickly, and use without changing their entire way of working. I think that is often underestimated.
What's next for Irtiqa Hub
Over the next 6 to 12 months, my main focus is to get more small businesses using Irtiqa Hub and to make the products better based on what we learn from them. We have built products for different needs, including BillEase for billing, Inventra for inventory, WhatsHub for customer communication, and TeamHub for business operations. Now I want to spend more time improving these products instead of simply adding more products.
For example, the mobile POS feature in BillEase came directly from a customer who wanted billing software but did not want to spend money on a computer and printer. Experiences like that are what I want to see more of. I want our roadmap to be driven by real customer problems.
We will also continue working on making our pricing accessible to small businesses. The next stage for Irtiqa Hub is really about adoption, improving the products through real usage, and building a customer base that sees enough value in our software to keep using it as their business grows.
Aayan's background
I was already working in the SaaS industry before I started Irtiqa Hub, so I was not completely new to the space. My experience gave me the opportunity to see how different SaaS products were being used by businesses and, more importantly, what customers were asking for.
I noticed a pattern, especially among smaller businesses. Many customers wanted software with a good set of features, but they were looking for something more affordable and easier to use. It was not that they did not see the value in software. The problem was that some of the solutions available to them were either too expensive, had more complexity than they needed, or were not really designed around the way a small business operates.
That experience stayed with me and eventually made me think, instead of always looking for the right product for these customers, why not build one?
That is where the idea for Irtiqa Hub started. I was able to bring my SaaS industry experience into the product, but building and growing Irtiqa Hub itself has been a completely different learning experience.
Biggest lesson building Irtiqa Hub
The biggest mistake I made was trying to build too many things at the same time. When I started Irtiqa Hub, I had a lot of ideas about the different problems we could solve for small businesses. That led us to work on products like BillEase, Inventra, WhatsHub, and TeamHub, sometimes before we had fully understood which problems needed our attention first.
One example that changed my thinking was BillEase. A customer told us they wanted a billing system but did not want to buy a computer or printer. Instead of adding more features just because we could, we focused on solving that specific problem and added mobile POS with WhatsApp bill sharing. That was much more valuable than simply adding another feature to the product roadmap.
I learned that building a SaaS product is not about how much you can build. It is about solving the right problem at the right time. Now I try to spend more time talking to customers before deciding what we should build next.
