How Synpria got started

After years of running a trucking company, I got tired of using different systems and spreadsheets for loads, drivers, payroll, invoices, documents, and fleet management. I kept seeing the same information being entered more than once and people spending time switching between different tools just to complete normal daily work. As the person managing the business, I could see how much time this was taking from dispatchers and how easily information could get missed or disconnected. I started thinking that there should be one system where a trucking company could manage the main parts of its operation without making the workflow more complicated. I didn’t want to build software just because I thought trucking needed another TMS. I wanted to build something around the way we actually work every day. The more I thought about the problems I was dealing with in my own company, the more I realized I wanted to build the system I wished I already had. That is what eventually became Synpria.

Growing Synpria: what worked and what didn't

Because Synpria is still pre-launch, I don’t have enough data yet to honestly say that one marketing channel has been a major success or a complete failure. What has worked best so far is showing the product directly to people who actually work in trucking and talking to them about how they manage their daily operations. Those conversations are much more valuable to me right now than clicks or impressions because people in the industry immediately understand the problems Synpria is trying to solve and can tell me what makes sense and what doesn’t. I’ve also started sharing parts of the product and its development online to build some early awareness. As for what has flopped, I haven’t spent money on paid advertising yet, and that is intentional. I think paying for traffic before the core product is ready would be the wrong approach. At this stage, I would rather learn from real trucking operators, finish the product, and then test different growth channels with something people can actually use.

What Synpria customers really think

Since Synpria is still pre-launch, I don’t have paying customers to quote yet. But after more than seven years working in trucking and managing daily transportation operations, I hear the same frustration repeatedly, too many separate systems are needed to run one company. Dispatchers and managers may use one tool for loads, another for fleet information, spreadsheets for payroll, separate systems for invoices, and different places for documents and driver information. The problem isn’t just the number of tools. It’s the amount of duplicate work and time wasted moving the same information between them. I’ve experienced this problem myself, which is one of the main reasons I started building Synpria. My approach has been to bring the core workflows together in one system and make them connect naturally. For example, information from a completed load should be able to flow into invoicing and payroll instead of being entered again manually. I’m also designing features like PDF rate confirmation reading so load details can eventually be extracted automatically and used to create a load with much less manual data entry.

What most people get wrong about Fleet Management Software

A lot of people think trucking software is mainly about dispatching loads and tracking trucks. Those things are important, but they are only one part of running a transportation company. In reality, every load connects to drivers, equipment, documents, payroll, invoices, expenses, and ultimately the profitability of the business. If those parts don’t communicate with each other, people end up entering the same information multiple times and using spreadsheets or separate systems to fill the gaps. From my experience managing a trucking company, the real challenge isn’t simply moving a load from pickup to delivery. It’s keeping the entire operation connected while still making the software simple enough that dispatchers and other employees actually want to use it every day. I think this is where many systems become too complicated. My goal with Synpria is not to add more work or more screens. It is to reduce unnecessary work, connect the information that already exists, and help owners and their teams understand what is happening across the business from one place.

What's next for Synpria

Over the next 6–12 months, my main goal is to launch Synpria and improve it based on real-world feedback from trucking companies. One of the next features I want to introduce is AI-powered document reading, where a dispatcher can upload a rate confirmation PDF and Synpria can extract the load details and create the load automatically instead of entering everything manually. Longer term, I want to build an AI assistant that can answer questions about revenue, invoices, driver pay, and truck profitability using the company’s own data.

Dmitrii's background

Before building Synpria, I had over seven years of hands-on experience in trucking, including running and managing a transportation company and leading a team. I’ve been responsible for day-to-day operations and worked directly with dispatchers, drivers, loads, equipment, payroll, invoices, documents, and many of the problems that come with keeping a trucking business running every day. Managing both the business and the people behind it taught me how all these parts depend on each other and where companies can easily lose time and money because of inefficient processes. I also learned that software only helps if it actually makes the job easier for the people using it. I had never built a software product before Synpria, so I started that part from scratch and had a lot to learn. But I wasn’t starting from scratch when it came to the industry or the problems. I already knew what I wanted Synpria to solve because I had experienced those problems myself.

Biggest lesson building Synpria

My biggest mistake was trying to build too much at once. Because I come from trucking and know the business from the inside, I could see dozens of problems that I wanted Synpria to solve. Every time I thought about another part of the operation, I saw another feature that could be useful. That made it very easy to keep expanding the product instead of focusing on getting the core experience finished and into users’ hands. I learned that a good product doesn’t need to solve every problem on day one. It needs to solve the most important problems really well. Now I’m much more focused on completing the core workflows, launching the product, listening to real feedback, and then deciding what to build next. I still have a big vision for Synpria, but I’ve learned that the best way to get there is step by step.
If I could go back to day one, I would start with a smaller version of Synpria and get it in front of real trucking companies earlier. I would spend more time watching how different companies work and collecting feedback before expanding into additional features. My own experience gave me a strong starting point, but every trucking company operates a little differently. I’ve learned that building the right product is not only about having a vision but also about listening to the people who will actually use it every day.
